About the Book

June and Day have fled to the Colonies and joined the Patriots, a rebel group who want them to assassinate the Republic's new young Elector but as June gets closer to the target, she begins to suspect the mission is not what it seems and that the Patriots may be no better than the Republic. The second Legend novel adds political complexity to the series while sustaining the first book's pace and romance. A strong middle entry.

Content Ratings

❤️
Moderate Romance
June and Day's romantic relationship deepens; their emotional and physical closeness is handled with the series' YA restraint but the romance is genuine and sustained.
💡
Moderate Themes
Political manipulation, the moral difficulty of choosing between two flawed political systems, and the cost of using children as political instruments are sustained throughout.
⚔️
Moderate Violence
Assassination plots, street combat, prison breakouts, and deaths occur; action style is kinetic and fast-paced.
