Content Ratings

No Romance
There is no romantic content in this installment; all relationships remain in the context of childhood friendship.
Mild Themes
Themes include social prejudice against those of non-magical birth, fear of being blamed for unexplained events, and the psychological pressure of being falsely suspected; challenges are resolved by the end.
Mild Violence
A giant serpent attacks students, a character is nearly killed, and a confrontation with a basilisk and a memory-creature occurs; violence is fantastical and tense but not graphically depicted.
Synopsis

Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts for his second year, only to find the school threatened by a mysterious monster petrifying students and an ominous message written in blood on the wall. As students are targeted and Harry hears a disembodied voice others cannot, he and his friends race to uncover the secret of the Chamber of Secrets before anyone is killed. A darker and more suspenseful adventure than the first.
